Modo Welcomes Web Developer Court Ewing We are really excited to continue growing our great little design firm...from new clients to new staff. We have recently welcomed Court Ewing as Web Developer! He'll provide all the client and server side programming for Modo-Made web sites. In other words, he will make the sites highly-functional and just plain user-friendly. As an experienced programmer and a graduate of the Computer Science program at Millersville University, Court will also work to build custom applications for our clients (to make their lives easier!) and even develop version 2 of the Modo site. (What a thrill!) Featured in Wired's Playlist, the site is touted as an entirely unique method for sending greeting cards in a way that is relevant to today's world. How cool? After all, it's not everyday that something you helped create is featured along with the Star Wars Millennium Falcon or Virgin Airlines' people-friendly practices! Check it out! 5/12/2008 Go Red for Women with Modo and the American Heart Association The folks here at Modo are so proud to support the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women Campaign. Modo designed the Auction Catalog Cover for the Fundraising Luncheon held this May by the Lancaster County Division of the American Heart Association. With a strikingly modern look, the print piece provided attendees with needed information on auction items donated by local businesses who support heart health for women. Interestingly, heart disease is the number one killer of women today. Join us in supporting the American Heart Association today! 4/10/2008 Modo Named as Webby Award Honoree for Design of Tripletz.com! http://www.tripletz.com Wow, the folks here at Modo are thrilled! We’ve been honored with a Webby Awards distinction by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences - as a 2008 Honoree for the design of Tripletz.com. Modo worked with Tripletz, LLC to to design the entire web site from the visual look to the functionality. We continued to be excited by Tripletz’s potential and are delighted to work with the ingenious Tripletz staff. And, we can’t wait to see Tripletz’s rave reviews in the June edition of Wired magazine. 4/8/2008 New Look for Nonprofit Resource Network of Millersville University http://www.nonprofitresourcenetwork.org Modo is so pleased to have designed the new look and improve usability and functionality of the Nonprofit Resource Network’s web site. The new site gives the burgeoning leadership organization a great image and provides users with database driven content that can be used as a resourceful online application. Staff at the NRN can easily add and edit content throughout the site and its databases through the creation of a custom content management system. Affiliated with Millersville University, the Nonprofit Resource Network provides professional training and information resources for not-for-profit sector leaders and staff throughout the Central Pennsylvania region. The folks here at Modo are pleased to report that we’ve moved to a newly leased property in downtown Lancaster, PA. Our new home is a converted tobacco warehouse in which we occupy the top floor studio suite and enjoy bright natural light, hardwood floors, and a great creative environment to keep the ideas flowing! Our space is an inspiring example of adaptive reuse of a building and is in keeping with our belief in sustainable business practices. Our new diggs are at 319 E. (Of course you can still send us packages, mail, and special notes at the 1653 Lititz Pike #205, Lancaster, PA 17601 address.) 1/14/2008 USGBC-NCR Chapter Launches a Customized Modo Web Site In an effort to reinvent and strengthen their web presence, The National Capital Region Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC-NCR) recently launched a completely redesigned web site that was concepted, designed, and programmed by Modo. The new home page features a dynamic blog-styled news feature to promote the membership association’s work while highlighting its important upcoming events. While not visible to users, the site has a custom content management system which allows the staff to quickly update the content on the site within minutes. Based in Potomac Falls, Virginia, the National Capital Region Chapter is a nonprofit membership association dedicated to advancing green building initiatives in communities throughout northern Virginia, the D.C. metro area, and Maryland. 12/5/2007 New Modo Site Launches for Michael D’Ambrosia Photography of Los Angeles, CA http://www.michaeldambrosia.com Prominent Los Angeles photographer Michael D’Ambrosia chose the folks here at Modo Design Group to design and create a portfolio-styled web site to showcase his photographic work. D’Ambrosia is an acclaimed photographer who specializes in head-shots for the acting industry, unique portraits and commercial photography. Modo provided a custom site that launches into a showing of the work and can be easily navigated by the user to customize their viewing experience. Its beautiful stuff - check it out! 12/1/2007 USGBC Redefines Their Web Prescence with Five Modo Designed Sites http://www.usgbc.org With over 10,000 members nationwide, the U.S. Green Building Council is a dynamic membership association advancing low impact, sustainable buildings nationwide and implementing a national (LEED) rating system. In keeping with their quest for innovation, USGBC is redefining their entire web presence and Modo Design Group Inc. is pleased to lead this monumental design effort. Modo designed five sites, including the innovative redesign of their main site, usgbc.org, which launched in early November. Modo also created four new companion sites: www.buildgreenschools.org; www.greenbuildexpo.org; www.greenbuild365.org; www.gbci.org. USGBC revealed their comprehensively redefined web presence on November 7-9 in Chicago at Greenbuild, the world’s largest green building conference. 10/31/2007
